Hello!

My name is Cassaundra. I am the owner of Cherished Birth Photography. We are currently living in Clovis, New Mexico where my husband recently retired after 20 years of military service. I have been photographing births and newborns for the last 12 years.

Birth has my heart FOREVER! I worked in labor and delivery for 3.5 years. Because of that experience, I have come to intimately know and understand much of what happens in the birth world. I am comfortable with all the things, including the unmentionables. I have been a part of dozens of csections, and vaginal deliveries, and have assisted in breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery. Between that, my own 8 babies who were all natural deliveries , and documenting birth stories as a photographer, birth has been a large part of who I am the last many years! I have had the privilege of photographing a large assortment of births; natural births in hospitals and birth centers, hospital epidural births, csections, home births to include water births, and even birth on the side of the road.

Birth is beautiful. Time is removed and itโ€™s just mama doing her birthing thing; instinctual, primitive, raw as her baby is brought earthside. Though my years of doing birth photography, I have had the honor of being a part of births in Alaska, Guam, Hawaii, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Arkansas, Texas, and New Mexico. I go into birth space as a quiet behind the lens witness to the miracle of God's creation, helping document and record a precious moment to be frozen in time. While in the birthing environment, my goal is to be supportive with any (non medical) birth advice and my experience, when called upon. And in other moments, I am invisibly silent behind the scenes documenting each of the moments as baby joins their eagerly awaiting family.

For my newborn sessions, I have 20 plus years of experience handling newborns. I love to document lifestyle sessions in your home or place of birth

( if we do a fresh 48.) My goal is to capture genuine interactions and moments, and focus on natural baby/parent led poses. Though I am capable of some studio style posing, my focus is telling the story of the, in your home first days, cuddles and snuggles with family members,

( even the furry ones ๐Ÿถ) and natural sweet newborn positions that baby happens to be in. I love detailed shots of little nose, and fingers, and lips, and downy soft hair. Ugh, ๐Ÿ˜ even thinking about all that makes my ovaries hurt. Job hazards. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Probably why I have 8 kids. Haha

When I am not behind the camera professionally, you will find me homeschooling my children, enjoying baking, (chocolate chip cookies especially, going for long family walks, attending church and fellowshipping with local believers, listening to music, and taking my kids pictures, and doing photo projects for my family. My favorite things are chocolate, fall, a nice hot shower, and getting to visit with my parents, siblings and nieces and nephew.

Thanks for dropping by! Please take a look around at the site. I hope to meet you soon, so I can be the photo storyteller for your family. I am excited to provide you with digital images and keepsakes to hold onto forever. ๐Ÿ’–

Many blessings,

Cassaundra

๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’•Ps, I do have social media account for my photography. My pipe dream someday is to have an active and growing online community where people can follow all my current work in real time. However, in this season of mom life, my kiddos take up A LOT of my time. Social media management is unfortunately at the bottom of my time abilities right now. I do occasionally put my socials online live, and occasionally update them. If you happen to see your session on social media, you should feel privileged and excited.

But for now, personal interactions with people in the community, and my website, and actively delivering and managing any current clients sessions is about all this mama can do. So feel free to explore this website, reach out for any questions, and know that I care for each of my clients carefully and attentively. More often than not, my clients become friends for life. ๐Ÿฅฐ
